The Nenets Agrarian Economic Technical School invites UArctic members to take part in the scientific conference "Science. Education. Production.” The annual conference will be held in Naryan-Mar, Russia on February 6, 2015 in the framework of the Day of Science.

UArctic launched a call for two intern positions earlier this year: one at the UArctic International Secretariat at the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi, Finland, and another at the UArctic Thematic Networks Office at the University of Oulu, Finland. The Interns have now finalized their training under the MobilityDK project.

The Science Corner of the University of Helsinki organizes two panel discussions on the future of the Arctic on Dec 2-3, 2014 in which experts will focus on current environmental and business-related issues in the Arctic. The events are organized in collaboration with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.

The UArctic Thematic Network on Local and Regional Development and UiT/The Arctic University of Norway has organized a seminar on local business and community development for Avjuvarri Indigenous Region in Kautokeino.

On February 2-7, 2015 Russia’s Tverskaya oblast (region) will host the first stage of the International Youth Forum “The Arctic Expedition”. Application deadline: December 6, 2014.

II International Arctic Legal Forum "Conservation and Sustainable Development of the Arctic: legal aspects" was held in St. Petersburg, Russia, Nov 12-15, 2014. The final conference of the project "ArctiChildren InNet - Development of electronic health systems in schools of the Barents Region" was held at the University of Lapland where over 50 representatives from the UArctic network exchanged best practices in the implementation of e-health in schools of the Barents region.

The ACUNS Canadian Northern Studies Trust offers a variety of awards in support of northern research at the undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral level. The competition for the 2015-16 is now open!

From November 7th to 27th 2014, The UArctic Thematic Network, Arctic Sustainable Arts and Design (ASAD) are hosting the Relate North 2014, Art Heritage and Identity Exhibition at the Riddo Duottar Museum in Kautokeino, Norway.

Antioch University New England has highlighted its recent membership in UArctic during a visit by UArctic President Lars Kullerud and Vice-President Organization Outi Snellman, as reported in the Keene Sentinal. Antioch president Stephen Jones is the former chair of UArctic's Board of Governors.

Lapland University Press has released a new book on art and design, Relate North 2014: Engagement, Art and Representation. Edited by Timo Jokela and Glen Coutts, this is the first international peer-reviewed publication produced as part of the work of the UArctic Thematic Network on Arctic Sustainable Arts and Design (ASAD).
