The History Department of the University of Oulu will organize interdisciplinary symposium “The Barents and the Baltic Sea region: contacts, influences and social change” in Oulu in December 2015. The aim of the symposium is to analyse the characteristics of the Barents and Baltic Sea region from interdisciplinary perspectives.

The EU's Interreg North 2014-2020 Programme is now open for applications from northern parts of Finland, Sweden, Norway and Sami areas. The call is open until 30th of August 2015.
The joint IMO/WMU/PAME international conference on Safe and Sustainable Shipping in a Changing Arctic Environment (ShipArc 2015) will be held 25-27 August 2015 in Malmö, Sweden. The conference registration is still ongoing, and the deadline for abstracts submission has been extended to 30 June 2015.
