The Institute of Earth Sciences of Saint Petersburg State University (SPbSU) and University of Tromso (UiT) are providing joint field courses for second year students in summer 2015 as part of their collaboration in the UArctic Thematic Network on Arctic Geology.

The UArctic Thematic Network in Arctic Law has been involved in the publication of the new publication, Polar Law and Resources, available from www.norden.org.

The course focusing on sustainable business practices in the High North is organized on 2-8 August 2015 by the Bodø Graduate School of Business, University of Nordland. Application deadline: 25 May 2015.

This publication by the  Russian Indigenous Training Centre summarizes outputs of the International Decade of the World's Indigenous Peoples (2005-2014). The articles’ authors consider such issues as indigenous law, demographic changes, cultural life of indigenous peoples in the North.

17 researchers from Arctic Council nations, including the United States, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Russia, and Sweden will engage in collaborative thinking, analysis, problem-solving and multi-disciplinary research over the next 18 months as a part of the U.S. Department of State’s Fulbright Arctic Initiative.

The Canadian Studies Center at the University of Washington organizes a one-day workshop on 1 May 2015 on the unique relationship between Québec and the Inuit of Nunavik, in particular the policy dialogue that exists between this sub-national government and Inuit region.

The 2nd part of the NRF “Arctic Science in Globalization” Northern Research Forum (NRF) open dialogue session - with the theme “Relevant worldwide implications of the globalized Arctic affecting the Globe, and how should they be taken into consideration” - will take place on 29th of April 2015 at ICARP III in Toyama.

Ministers from eight Arctic states and leaders of Arctic Indigenous Peoples met today in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada, marking the conclusion of Canada’s Arctic Council Chairmanship and the beginning of the United States’ Chairmanship. (see full story at Arctic Council).
