Co-organised by the governments of France and Costa Rica, the third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3) will take place in Nice from June 9th to June 13th, 2025.
The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the City of Nice and the Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur is organizing a series of activities open to the public from May 28th to June 15th, at the Palais des Expositions in Nice, which will be named "La Baleine" for the occasion. These activities will run in parallel with the official negotiations and aim to present and showcase the major issues and challenges discussed at the conference. The main topics addressed during the conference will be featured in dedicated "thematic pavilions."
In addition to the activities already planned, the UNOC General Secretariat of the Ministry is launching a call for expressions of interest to develop new activities in the form of "thematic pavilions" dedicated to one of the key issues under negotiation at UNOC in Nice in June 2025. These pavilions may take the form of thematic exhibitions, socio-educational displays, or exhibitions featuring large-scale, remarkable ocean-related objects.
The application deadline is March 3rd (midnight, Paris time), with the possibility of a supplementary list, subject to available space in La Baleine, for applications received before March 15, 2025 (see article V and VII of the Call for Expressions of Interest).
