The EU Arctic Forum, Indigenous Peoples’ Dialogue and EU-Arctic Youth Dialogue will bring together key Arctic players and stakeholders to assess recent developments in the Arctic and discuss challenges and opportunities ahead, in particular those affecting young people, local and indigenous communities. The event will include keynote addresses as well as inclusive and balanced panel sessions. The aim of the events is to illustrate the EU's engagement in and for the Arctic, and assess progress made since the adoption in October 2021 of the updated EU Joint Communication on the Arctic.
Commissioner Costas Kadis, who will be hosting the meetings, as well as the Finnish Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering, Joakim Strand, are expected to give opening speeches. The events are organised in cooperation with the local, regional, and national authorities of Finland and will take place in Levi, Kittilä on June 26th-27th 2025, with side events foreseen on June 25th and 28th.
