In their meeting, the Board approved the financial statement and the auditor’s report, approved UArctic’s strategic focus areas, and discussed about changes in the leadership, recent developments in the philanthropic fundraising, and development of the regional centres. The Board elected Board member Lesley Brown of Yukon University as Board Vice-Chair II, and Board member Johanna Ikäheimo of Lappset as Vice-Chair of the Board’s Philanthropic Fundraising Advisory Group Týr. The Board also approved several items to be presented in the UArctic Assembly meeting on 6-9 June 2025 in Inari, Finland.

The meeting program also included meetings with Orkney Islands Council and leadership of the three universities having presence in Orkney: University of Highlands and Islands, Robert Gordon University and Heriot-Watt University. In addition, the Board discussed about renewable energy solutions and community development with the representatives of local industries and communities.
