north2north coordinators from the US, Canada, Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, and Australia traveled to Fairbanks to attend the biennial north2north meeting hosted by the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Various sessions were organized to strengthen cooperation between the participating institutions. Important topics, such as the evaluation of the north2north tuition waivers application and the grants allocation process, were discussed to explore ways to increase the number of participating students and staff.
This meeting provided an opportunity for new north2north institutional coordinators to meet their counterparts from Australia and other Arctic countries, promoting each other’s exchange programs. These meetings are always held at a north2north member institution, allowing coordinators to visit new campuses and see different infrastructures. Part of the delegation combined their trip to Fairbanks with visits to other UArctic and north2north institutions located in Alaska or on the western coast of the US or Canada.
