The Interpolar Dialogue gathered global experts to address climate vulnerabilities and foster cooperation.

Keynote speaker H.E. Katrín Jakobsdóttir emphasized inclusive Arctic governance and integrating indigenous and scientific knowledge. Other notable speakers included Hiroyuki Enomoto, Dr. Pema Gyamtsho, and Mitsutaku Makino.

Prof. Hossain emphasized the need for region-specific governance frameworks for the Arctic, Antarctic, and HKH regions, highlighting their distinct legal structures. He called for enhanced transboundary collaboration on climate, water, and environmental issues, proposing an interpolar mechanism tailored to each region’s unique context. Citing the Arctic Council’s inclusive model, he recommended a multi-stakeholder platform to support locally rooted governance and promote joint research and knowledge sharing across polar and high-altitude regions.
