As a Work Integrated Social Enterprise (WISE), SmartICE hosts interns and co-op students from a variety of faculties including business, engineering, social work, etc. so they can gain valuable work experience and grow their employability skillset.

One of the Founders of UArctic, Anita Lehikoinen, visited the UArctic International Secretariat as she had a speaking engagement at the University of Lapland in the opening ceremony of the university, where she stressed the important role of UArctic and ULapland.
